Author's Note
The information in this web sight is the result of an intentional effort to understand physical phenomena using reason, absent any sophisticated mathematics. Consequently the visitor does not require a sophisticated mathematical training to understand the contents herein. Any mathematics presented is to assist with clarification and begins and ends in the illustrations. A high school familiarity with Euclidean geometry, or its equivalent in the applied trades, will make parts of this web sight more meaningful. Absent that, the principles put forward should be within the the grasp of any college graduate, and any intelligent high school graduate, and any other person who has developed, or can develop, an interest in the subject.
The arguments and objections put forward in this publication are not meant to detract from the historical significance of the scientific ideas under attack. The eminence of these ideas in the history of science is inviolate. Rather it is my intent to provide a small increase in perspective, the vantage point of which depends on carving a secure foothold in what appeared as the smooth surface of our tower of knowledge. Some of my climb has resulted in little more than notches left from the spiked boots I used during the ascent. And some of the tower has been carved deeply, almost obliterating temporarily, that part of the surface which existed before. No ascension could have occurred had the tower not existed.
